Public Servant.
Mike was elected to the State Assembly in 2022. He is a former longtime aide to progressive Senator Russ Feingold. He previously served on the Dane County Board, where he was a progressive voice for union workers, students, teachers, businesses, healthcare workers, and low-income tenants. He previously served on the Verona City Council, and its Plan Commission and chaired its Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission. In the Assembly, Mike has worked on solutions to homelessness, economic insecurity, and environmental conservation.
Small Business Owner.
Mike is a small business owner of the Biergarten at Olbrich Park in Madison, where sales support public parks, and community organizations regularly participate in benefit nights.
Community Advocate.
From 2010 to 2022, Mike was a full-time advocate for Wisconsin’s low-income population at the Community Advocates Public Policy Institute, where his work focused on equitable access to healthcare, housing security, and helping Wisconsinites get out of poverty through work-based solutions.
Father.
Most importantly, Mike is a Dad to two energetic, bright, and kind boys. He and his wife work every day toward a Wisconsin that they want to live in. As a member of the State Assembly, he defends our democracy, basic rights, and community investments for his kids and every Wisconsin kid.
